Mark Clements, MD, PhD
ADVISOR
Dr. Mark Clements is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is also the Chief Medical and Strategy Officer at Glooko, an organization focused on improving health outcomes for people with diabetes through a personalized and connected care platform. Mark is a pediatric endocrinologist and clinical researcher who collaborates broadly across the field of diabetes research. He is responsible for developing the overall strategic direction of the RTA.
JUAN ESPINOZA, MD
CO-CHAIR
Dr. Juan Espinoza is the Chief Research Informatics Officer at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as contact PI for the grant and co-lead of the RTA alongside Dr. Clements. He brings 15 total years of experience in CGM-EHR integration, health information systems, advanced analytics and health equity-focused research.
Dan Tilden, MD
Co-Chair
Dr. Daniel Tilden is an assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) in the division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Clinical Pharmacology and a Research Assistant Professor at Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas City. He is co-lead of the RTA alongside Dr. Espinoza and leads aspects of Implementation and Evaluation. Dr. Tilden is a practicing endocrinologist with a clinical and research focus on providing innovative care for young adults and those living in rural areas with type 1 diabetes.
Grace Garcia, MHA, INF, BSN, RN
Program Manager
Grace Garcia serves as the Program Manager for the Rising T1DE Alliance. She oversees day-to-day operations, provides supervision to project staff and coordinates across cores and implementation sites. She also fulfills reporting requirements and ensures financial responsibility for the grant. As a registered nurse with a master's degree in health administration and informatics, Grace brings expertise in clinical quality improvement, implementation science and product management.
Dominique Pahud, MBA
Strategy & Growth Consultant
Dominique Pahud serves as a Strategy and Growth Consultant for the RTA, partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement a strategy that aligns project goals with organizational priorities, conducts market analysis and establishes performance metrics to ensure successful outcomes.
Brent Lockee
Technology Lead
Brent Lockee is the Lead Data Scientist and serves as the Technology Lead, overseeing the development, validation and implementation of the Diabetes Data Dock. This involves ensuring consistency across data sources, optimizing algorithms for data harmonization and collaborating with clinical and technical teams to enhance interoperability.
Lawrence Lett, MS
Project Manager
Lawrence Lett is the Project Manager and is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, monitoring and finalization of the project. The primary goal of his efforts is to ensure timely project completion within scope and on budget, while meeting the highest standards of quality and compliance.
JORDAN CASHWELL
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Jordan is a healthcare professional with over 16 years of experience in data analysis, clinical research, and patient care. Currently pursuing a Master of Public Health, her background spans clinical research coordination to service in the U.S. Air Force as a Communications Signals Analyst. Jordan brings strong leadership, analytical and strategic planning skills to her role as Program Coordinator.
Sadaf Javaid, MEd
Training & Dissemination Specialist
Sadaf Javaid is the Training & Dissemination Specialist and is responsible for drafting components of the CGM-EHR Integration toolkit. She also develops multimedia materials to support the training and onboarding of implementation sites and leads the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange (T1DX) Quality Improvement Collaborative dissemination plan.
Eric Williams Jr. MSHA, MSHI
Informatics Lead
Eric Williams Jr. serves as the Informatics Lead, providing critical informatics expertise to the RTA and implementation sides, including interoperability, common data models, data standards and terminologies, and EHR integration. Eric also contributes technical writing and expertise to the CGM-EHR Implementation Toolkit development.
Angel Avina, MS, MPH
Implementation Lead
Angel serves as the Implementation Lead, advancing the grants initiatives from design to dissemination. He provides key leadership in implementation science and quality improvement, leading the Implementation and Evaluation Plan. Angel also supports stakeholder engagement, data management and informed strategy selection for successful project implementation.
Andrew Berry, PhD
Implementation Scientist
Dr. Andrew Berry is an Assistant Professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.. Dr. Berry serves as the Lead Implementation Scientist, developing an implementation toolkit to scale the use of the Diabetes Data Dock. He has more than 15 years of experience designing, implementing and evaluating health information technologies. He completed PhD training in Human Centered Design & Engineering and postdoctoral training in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Washington.
KENDALL JOB
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Kendall serves as the Marketing Lead, coordinating digital communications and managing content development across social media, newsletters, the RTA website and other internal and external channels. With a degree in advertising and professional background in healthcare public relations, Kendall brings strategy and creativity to the program’s communications efforts.
